Admission Process

▪December 2, 2017
      ▪Bring #2 pencils, calculator, social security number; 
      ▪$25 test fee, cash, check or money order.
      ▪8 am Optional parent information coffee.
▪February 1-6. 2018
      ▪Acceptance letter to Guerin mailed with invitations to apply to Nolan Scholars program based on test score, academic record, recommendations.
▪February 6, 2018
      ▪“Got into Guerin” Night—test scores and registration info distributed.
      ▪Nolan Scholar application must be completed and received at Guerin Prep. An interview may have been scheduled.
▪February 15, 2018
      ▪Student Registration 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
      ▪Notification of acceptance into Nolan Scholars..
Freshman Year Requirements

▪Must take a minimum of two honors classes per semester
▪Work with an academic counselor
▪Maintain a 3.65 GPA
▪Adhere to the Nolan Scholars Code of Conduct.
▪Participate in enrichment opportunities such as:
▪Field trips
▪Service-learning activities
▪Academic competitions
Scholarship Opportunities

▪President’s Scholarships
•$1,500 to each of top 10 scorers + Scholar invitation
▪Principal’s Scholarships
•$1,000 to each of the next 15 scorers + Scholar invitation
•Nolan Scholarship
•Additional $2,000 if accepted as a Nolan Scholar for each of your four years at Guerin Prep.
History of the Nolan Scholars Program

▪Named for Sr. Nancy Nolan, S.P. - President Emeritus
▪Nine years of service, first as president of Mother Theodore Guerin, then Guerin Prep High School
▪Nolan program started in 2008
▪Academic, Enrichment, and Service are the key elements of the Nolan program
